Complete In Christ Jesus (BW14)
John 1:1, 14 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God... And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
The Word of God became flesh as our Lord Jesus, so every word that comes out of His mouth (and also those of His Prophets and Apostles) as recorded in the Bible is the word of God. So when we keep God's words we are abiding and dwelling in Jesus.
Col 2:6-7, 8-9 As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.
1. Walk in Him
To be transformed into His image, we must walk in Him i.e doing what our Lord Jesus would have done in each situation. See this show as a guide 'What would Jesus do?'
2. Rooted in Him
1Cor3:11 For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
We must be rooted (grounded) in the foundation of Jesus, whose gospel is:-
Jesus Christ, the Son of God was made flesh (born of virgin Mary). He suffered and was crucified as the Lamb of God for our sins. He tasted death on our behalf and was found in Hades. The third day He rose from the dead and is now seated at the right hand of God.
Whoever believes the gospel is saved (born again) for his sins are cleansed by the blood of Jesus poured out at the cross, and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit as his seal of redemption.
3. Built up in Him
Having been born again and with the Holy Spirit, he becomes the child of God. If he truly appreciate the love of Jesus for saving him from damnation, he will read and keep His words. The Holy Spirit (Spirit of truth) will then teach, guide and lead him into all truth and he will know God and understand his will, plan etc. He will then be able to overcome the deceptions and temptations of this world and he will be able to build a temple (his physical body) holy for God to dwell within.
Rom 6:22 But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life.
3. Established in the faith
Being a child of God, he believes that God will guide, teach, nourish and protect him. No one can touch, hurt or harm him without God's knowledge or approval. Problems, disasters, sicknesses, etc are trials from God to produce in us the fruit of the Spirit and perfection.
Jam 1:2-3 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.
Col 2:9-10 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.
We need to walk in Jesus, rooted and built up in Him and our faith perfected in Him, so that just like Abraham, we believe God can perform not only healings, deliverances, miracles, signs and wonders, etc. but also the impossible, for in Him is the fullness of the Godhead. Abraham though facing the impossibilities of having a son, yet He believed God could perform the impossible.
Rom 4:19-21 And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah's womb. He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.
