Jesus, You Are My Lord (BW09)

Luke 6:46 "But why do you call Me 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do the things which I say?"
Was Jesus talking about us?

2Tim 3:1-4 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy... traitors, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
Our Lord had told us beforehand that the last generation of Christians will not keep His words. They care only for their own comfort, livelihood, pleasures, worldly success, etc. Not only that they do not have any compassion nor care for the poor fellow pastors and brethren but they also persecute and revile them. We are either the disobedient and unfaithful Christians or living  amongst the evil generation of end time faithless Christians (just like Jeremiah, Isaiah, and the other prophets)

What must I do then?

1. Follow the last days' crowd

Mat 7:21-23 "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!' "
If we continue as usual (worldly, covetous, proud, pleasure loving, etc.) following the worldly pastors, Christian leaders, Christians, etc. then at judgment, He will cast us out for our disobedience to His words or lawlessness.

We cannot serve two masters

Luke 16:13-14 "No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon." Now the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, also heard all these things, and they derided Him.
Once we serve money, we will persecute and revile godly Christians.

Satan is the ruler of this world

John 14:30 "I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming, and he has nothing in Me."

The devil is the ruler of this world and he can give you money, position, power, etc.

Mat 4:8-10 Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, "All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me." Then Jesus said to him, "Away with you, Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.' "

2. Repent and serve only Jesus

1John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
We thank God that out of His great love for us, our sins are forgiven at our confession or repentance.

John 14 :23 Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him."
Once we keep His words, the Father and our Lord Jesus will dwell in us to help us overcome Satan and his deceptions. Then we will be counted worthy to sit on His throne instead of being cast into the everlasting fire.

Rev 3:21 "To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne."

Brethren,  "For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?"  (Mat 16:26)
