Word - Fear Of The Lord (BW08)

Deu 4:10 "especially concerning the day you stood before the LORD your God in Horeb, when the LORD said to me, 'Gather the people to Me, and I will let them hear My words, that they may learn to fear Me all the days they live on the earth, and that they may teach their children.'"

God ensured that His words are heard by all His people, so that they may be able to fear the Lord. Having heard and believed the words of God they will bear the fruit of teaching them to their children.

Brethren, test yourself for if you are not teaching your children the words of God then you may not have the fear of God nor believe the word of God.

Fear of God perfects holiness

2Cor 7:1 Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Brethren, without the fear of God we will not be able to be cleansed of the filthiness of our flesh and spirit leading to the perfecting of holiness. The fear of the Lord helps us to:

1. Wisdom and Instruction
Pro 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

2. Knowledge of God
Pro 9.10 "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding."

3. Life free from evil
Pro 19:23 The fear of the LORD leads to life, and he who has it will abide in satisfaction; He will not be visited with evil.

4. Hate Evil or Covetousness
Pro 8:13 The fear of the LORD is to hate evil; pride and arrogance and the evil way and the perverse mouth I hate.

5. Keep His commandments
Psalm 111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; a good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever.

6. Comfort of the Holy Spirit
Act 9:31 Then the churches throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and were edified. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied.

Those without the fear of God

Rom 3:10-18 As it is written: "There is none righteous, no, not one; There is none who understands; there is none who seeks after God. They have all turned aside; they have together become unprofitable; there is none who does good, no, not one. Their throat is an open tomb; With their tongues they have practiced deceit; 'The poison of asps is under their lips'; whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness. Their feet are swift to shed blood; destruction and misery are in their ways; and the way of peace they have not known. There is no fear of God before their eyes."

Brethren, beware of all those who have no fear of God in the churches for they speak lies, promise you false securities and give false prophecies. They are faithless, covetous, deceitful, proud, boastful, blasphemous, heretic, etc. They are miserable for they have rejected truth and doubted the infallibility of His words. They mock God for not able to keep His words and promises and a Deceiver and Liar.

Jude:1.17-21 But you, beloved, remember the words which were spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ: how they told you that there would be mockers in the last time who would walk according to their own ungodly lusts. These are sensual persons, who cause divisions, not having the Spirit. But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
