Daniel 12:8-9 - Words Sealed (BW44)

'Summary of the book of Daniel'

Dan 12:8-9 Although I heard, I did not understand. Then I said, "My lord, what shall be the end of these things?" And he said, "Go your way, Daniel, for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.

Even Daniel, the prophet of God according to our Lord Jesus Christ (Mat 24:15) and also one of the three righteous men acknowledge by God (Eze 14:14), was denied the request to understand the end time prophecies given to him because God has sealed it till the end time when it will be revealed.

No wonder, the Lord told His disciples not to be concerned with His coming (an end time event) because they were not living in the last days for the understanding can only be revealed in the end time.

Act 1:6-7 Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, "Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?" And He said to them, "It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority.

Hebrew Bible rejects Daniel

'In the Hebrew Bible, the Book of Daniel is found in the Ketuvim (writings), while in Christian Bibles it is grouped with the Major Prophets.' The traditional view holds that the work was written by Daniel, a prophet who lived during the sixth century BC, whereas most modern biblical scholars maintain that the book was written in large part during the mid-second century BC and that most of the predictions of the book refer to events that had already occurred (historical accounts only and not prophecies)

Blindness of Jewish Priesthood

Dan 9:26-27a "Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the command to restore and build Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince, there shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublesome times. And after the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself"

The Jewish Priesthood did not accept Daniel as a prophet so they rejected his prophecy that the Messiah will come as the Lamb of God (Messiah cut off), who was sent to be sacrificed for the sins of mankind as stated in Isaiah. Otherwise they would have repented when Jesus was crucified exactly 69x7 years after the command of Cyrus to rebuild Jerusalem or 62x7 years after the rebuilding of the walls of Jerusalem by Nehemiah.

Isa 53:5-6 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way; and the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all."

Mat 24:15 "Therefore when you see the 'abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (whoever reads, let him understand)"

Even though our Lord told His disciples that Daniel was a prophet of God, they were already badly indoctrinated with the teaching that the Messiah would come for His Millennium Rule instead of the sacrificial Lamb of God for the redemption of mankind. They were looking forward to earthly rewards and benefits from their earthly king.

Similarly, many covetous Christians, pastors and Christian leaders today, indoctrinated with confused, distorted and demonic teachings of end time prophecies and events (eschatology) will not believe the truth in Daniel.

Brethren, if we are living in the last days we must obey our Lord Jesus and read the book of Daniel for a better understanding of eschatology.
